In a clear bet for the new technologies, in 1997, COMATEL came to an agreement with the Austrian company Funworld to bring the touchscreen concept onto the Spanish market. Such agreement led to an 80% gain of market share, with sales of more than 25.000 units in a period of three years.
COMATEL kept on growing in its sector, as in 1999 the firm signed an exclusive contract with JPM, a prestigious British manufacturer. The high annual growing rate and its position among the leaders on the Spanish entertainment market is mainly due to its business policy, which consists in diversifying investments in different products.
The exploitation of games machines (with over 2000 units owned by the company which are mainly distributed in the following provinces: Valencia, Andalusia, Catalonia and Madrid) from manufacturers such as JPM, Bell Fruit Games or Amatic are great example of this bet for the variety.
In March 2004, COMATEL signed contract with the Austrian manufacturer AMATIC, as exclusive distributor in Spain in the clear purpose of working on innovation and new technologies. From the end of that year, the best roulette of the Spanish market, Roulette Grand Jeu, was being located with great demand.
This growing strategy represents the foundations of a well-built and healthy company, however COMATEL did not just focus its activity on distributing. The profits made by the firm were dedicated to self-investment, so that it could finance research and development in close collaboration with its European partners to guarantee that each product to introduce was a success.
